Phi
Phi Don
The larger
of the two islands, Phi Phi Don has
accommodation ranging from basic bungalows
to more sophisticated resorts. Nightlife,
shopping and restaurants are located
generally around the centre of Tonsai,
where the boats arrive and depart.
(see map)
The smaller beaches
directly north and south of Tonsai
also have accommodation with the more
upmarket resorts around the north
east coast. Many have their own secluded
beach, accessed by local "longtail"
boats from Tonsai bay as there are
no roads on the island.
Ton
Sai Bay
1 km of white sand beach - the main
area where the boats dock. Lots of
accommodation, restaurants and places
to meet. The beach area stretches
back to Ao Lo Dalam, around the central
area which forms the focus of the
island. Touristy but fun. (map)
Haad
Yao or ‘Long Beach’
Where the best snorkelling reefs are
found. Local boats leave regularly
from Ton Sai, or you can walk along
the beach from Tonsai at low tide.
One of the most popular southern beaches.
Ao
Lo Dalam
Not so much action as Tonsai, although
close enough if you want a night out.
Some popular resorts are located here.
